Completed his MSc in Business Informatics at UZH in 2004, built Onlime and went fully independent with «Onlime GmbH» in 2019. Loves tinkering with Linux, networking, security, Ansible, LXC, ZFS, OPNsense, Python/Flask and PHP frameworks, full-stack web dev on Laravel (both VILT and TALL). Proud dad, jumps into rivers year-round, hops on his mountain bike, goes to Ecstatic Dance, or finds fresh ideas on crawl laps before diving into code.
Martin Wittwer
System Engineer & Developer
Completed his BSc in Computer Science at ZHAW in Winterthur in 2018 and has been offering cloud services (SwissStash, MailStash) via Wittwer IT Services for years. Brings solid know-how in the server/sysadmin area, Linux consulting, and hands-on projects for operations and automation – as a Proxmox partner he builds virtualization solutions, as a Zabbix partner monitoring setups. Also develops web apps, both frontend (VueJS, Vuetify) and backend (PHP/Laravel, Python/Flask).

Our Airpane Controlpanel was built on the VILT (Vue.js / Inertia.js / Laravel / Tailwind CSS) stack, while our website is based on the TALL (Tailwind CSS / Alpine.js / Laravel / Livewire) stack. The fresh lime ...
The first fruit that comes to mind in terms of medicinal uses is the reliable lime. This sour citrus fruit can do what many advanced medicines cannot. Lime, bearing the scientific name Citrus Aurantifolia, has been used for ages in the treatment of various ailments.
This fruit arose from the server rooms of the computer science club of the University of Zurich (ICU), where Pipo worked as a system administrator during his studies in business informatics. It is the year 2000. Pipo called his server "lime" and the citrus fruit was placed in the middle of a fruity server environment, next to banana and papaya. Every day, students were exchanging their files and only had to ask Pipo: "Is it already on-lime?".
It was no big surprise when his fellow students gave Pipo the domain onlime.ch as a birthday present back in 2003. The hosting was already born long time before, now it had a name.
... matures to a juicy fruit!
At the beginning of 2004, Pipo goes public with his company. Onlime GmbH has the goal to offer reliable and professional web hosting services – always on the cutting edge of technology and at affordable prices.
However Onlime GmbH will not intentionally keep up with the price dumping that takes place in the hosting market. A reliable service and a secured continuity take precedence.
Since 2006 Onlime GmbH runs its own server infrastructure at the data center of METANET in Zurich. The infrastructure is constantly being expanded and has now a high degree of redundancy.
As CRM and as control panel for its customers Onlime uses the in-house developed Airpane Controlpanel. Thanks to the high-quality server infrastructure, the convenient Control Panel and the sophisticated security architecture Onlime GmbH has acquired a high level of professionalism.

The «swiss made software» label promotes the Swiss software industry at home and abroad and stands for Swiss values like quality, reliability and precision.
«swiss hosting» was developed by swiss made software and is awarded exclusively to its members – a trusted Swissness seal for cloud and hosting services, contractually backed and with clear sanctions for misuse.
The following conditions must be met before a license holder can market their services with the swiss hosting logo:
- The company and its management must be legally and physically based in Switzerland.
- Hosting must run in a Swiss data center and be subject to Swiss data protection and data security law.
- Access from abroad to the hosting environment or data must be secured such that neither direct nor indirect access by any foreign organization or government is possible.
Until March 2022 we were a member of SWISS LABEL, but then switched to «swiss hosting» from swiss made software – the organization has a stronger reputation in the industry and vets new members significantly more thoroughly. Our entire infrastructure and all data is located in Switzerland. So this label totally applies to us – and we're proud of it!
